Paws for thought
Greetings BT fans!
If you have been to visit the NCAC you may have noticed that I have been looking a bit tired this week!
Benji and I have been out and about (ducking & diving)and making ourselves known to all the new ladies that have come to stay.
We have also tried to pick the locks in the cafe to get at the yummy cake we hear about all the time. Once we got the door open we realised that the cupboard was empty! You lot have eaten it all...
Probably just as well as still on this stupid diet.
Chocolate has been perfecting the art of jumping out when the door is open but then lets himself get picked up again (must teach him how to evade being caught).
Have also been trying out the old BT charm on Pepsi but it's not working. 'Alicat' on reception loves flowers so am going to try the interflora route and see if that works! I managed to 'borrow' Joels' credit card so money no object.
If you have any tips on all that romantic slushy stuff please let me know as Benji has his eye on her too (just don't tell Melody).
Big BT love to all those big ones who have been in cat cuddling, it makes us feel loved and wanted, shame you can't take us home though.
Lady Lulu looks sad this week. She has a sign on her cabin saying that she is the most lonely cat. Please, please ask your friends and see if you can find a nice Granny that will take her home.
Us cats would like you to paws for thought and send love to Kansas who departed this world this week. Great chap and had a really rough life before the NCAC rescued him. May you have found the catnip cloud in heaven bro'.
Keep cool
BT

This is all muscle mate!
To all those beautiful ones that follow us felines, don't fret, BT is back!
I have been busy on your behalf, doing a little networking and seeing what goes on behind the scenes at the NCAC.
Big thanks to Lady Lulu who has been doing a grand job looking after all the new young ones. Shame to see that no-one left a comment for her, but that's the way the titbit crumbles eh?
Well it seems that someone has decided that BIG Tommy should be a bit slimmer.
I am not happy.
What happened with patient confidentiality? Us boys don't want it blabbed out that our waist line is a little chunky, so why the catnip have they stuck a sign on my cabin saying no treats!
A little respect needed for the BT please...
Perhaps pretty little Pepsi will notice me if I trim down a bit though?
Lovely looker & only 4 years old.
I've also made a new buddy from one of the other wings. His name is Simba, and boy what a COOL cat he is. We have had a great time spinning on the reception chairs and hiding all their paperclips. Simba will be up for rehoming so have a look on the NCAC website to see him and all us others that need a new life.
Talking about re-homing, BT wants to show some 'respect' for all the purrrfect matches over the last couple of weeks and wishes the following top cats best of luck in their new pads:
Alaska - had been waiting four long months for a new pad
Dakota - had a visual impairment - another 4 months wait
Boots - 15 years young
There has been a lot of loving going round this year which is meant a lot of KITTENS!
Some of these cherubs have been left without a Mum, so BT wants to say Big Respect to all the big ones who have been hand rearing them (Robin,Sarah, Irene, Laura, Amy, Louise etc). This includes feeding them every 2 hours including thru the night!
Now, if you would like one of these bundles of fluff, please call 01825 741330 as these babes need a good start.
If you pop into the NCAC for a cat cuddle or a slice of cake, have a look at the photos of tiny Skippy.
He was days old when he was found in a skip by the collection driver. He is doing well thanks to the NCAC.
Right, better sign out. Wish me luck with wooing Pepsi!
Love ya

Good Afternoon from Lady Lulu
Hello my dears! I do hope you don't mind me taking over this week? Tommy (what a handsome chap) has had to go and talk to some of the big ones about why they are so busy in the maternity wing...
Anyway, it's lovely to be able to talk to you all. I get very lonely at night and miss the company of someone special. Though I am 15, I still have lots of energy to chase butterflies and would dearly love to sit next to you on the sofa to watch Top Gear (that Richard Hammond is such a cutie). But I am here to answer and hopefully solve any questions you may have on us felines! While I wait for you to get in touch, I have added some interesting facts you may not know:
**It has been scientifically proven that owning cats is good for our health and can decrease the occurrence of high blood pressure and other illnesses.
**Stroking a cat can help to relieve stress, and the feel of a purring cat on your lap conveys a strong sense of security and comfort.
**The ancient Egyptians were the first civilisation to realise the cat's potential as a vermin hunter and tamed cats to protect the corn supplies on which their lives depended.
**Sir Isaac Newton is not only credited with the laws of gravity but is also credited with inventing the cat flap.
**A cat has more bones than a human being; humans have 206 and the cat has 230 bones.
**A cat's hearing is much more sensitive than humans and dogs.
**Cats see six times better in the dark and at night than humans.
So if you kindly adopt one of us, who knows what else you will learn?!
Have to pop off now as the kittens need me to sing their lullaby. Don't forget to get in touch. It would make an old lady very happy.
Bless you all.

Taking it easy...
Girls, I am back! Yes I know you have missed me but reception duties can be soooooo tiring. It takes a lot out of a guy to be constantly fussed over by the whole female population.
Well, it's been hectic here with some of me ol' buddies going to new homes.
What really breaks me heart is the new recruits being brought into reception.
They are terrified and it's just the start of their journey here.
Once they are booked in they have to be checked by the green ones (vets to you), and put in a nice warm cabin that is clean & tidy but ain't home. The big ones are kind but it costs a helluva lot of dosh to ensure that we are tip-top.
I have been having a chat with Lulu, and she thinks that can spare a bit of time for you to help out with your feline questions. So if she can help - type 'Ask Lulu' at the start of your comment. Keep an ol' gal happy and get typing!
**Please note - if you want us to chat up one of the big ones for you, that will cost you a bag of catnip and a box of treats from the nice shop here.
Now, I like to think that I can look after myself around here, and I have a reputation to keep, so can someone please tell the pretty red head that in NO uncertain terms I AM NOT wearing a fairy costume for the open day!
I have been to the meetings and am looking forward to all you lovely people queing up to take a peek at my glossy coat, but a guy has to draw the line somewhere & dressing up is not on the agenda.
Must dash, it's shrek night down the pub and of course I am Puss In Boots - Miaooowww!

Boys are back in Town!
Heeeellloooo Ladies! Yes It's BT here again. Just waved old Jazzy off, and she suggested that I should take over for a bit.
I had such a busy afternoon yesterday, chatting up the pretty ones on reception. They're so easy to charm. I put some fragrance under my chin (Cool Catnip by le Chat)& they can't get enough of my loving.
One of them is a pretty little stray. I know this because they call her Alli ( as in alleycat I presume?), but she looks well groomed to me - Miaowww!
We have got a lot of new recruits in this week. I have to give them the old pep talk, tell em how to get extra food rations, best way to sneak out the cabin when they leave the door open etc.
Had to have a quiet word with that Enzo chappie, too much energy for my liking, and he's pulling all the ladies with those oriental eyes of his. Dominoe is a nice geezer, like his girl too (Willow). They've settled in real well and are going to keep an eye on those pesky kittens.
Now, if you ever need some motherly advice, go and see Lulu at the end. Lovely ol' girl and she sits there and listens to all our moans and groans.
Breaks me heart to see those big ones walk straight past her as she is no kitten anymore. Don't they realise that we often live up to 18+ years?? Eddie gets rather miffed when they refer to him as 'past it' at 10.
Right, need to run, us Toms have got poker night. Remember, I only purr for you!
Big Tommy xxx

Dear Friends, I type with pleasure and in speed as I have some exciting news for you......I have a new home! I am off to the fields, to watch the kites being flown and hear the sheep bleating.
My new owner and I got on really well, and she tells me that she has a large bed that I can sleep on when I wish.
Thank you so much for following my blog, but alas I will have to pass it onto another, as I must devote my time to my new life.
Love & licks to you all, Jasmine xxxx
